Midterms: A Modest Change, Maybe
By John Isaacs
Even if Democrats pick up control of the House, a change in national security policy isn't guaranteed, and only a perfect storm of events will get the Bush administration to make a significant change of course in Iraq. Read full story.
2006 ELECTIONS: RIGHT WEB PROFILES
Rep. Curt Weldon (R-PA)
The embattled congressman claims that allegations of his illegal ties to foreign arms manufacturers are a conspiracy coordinated by liberals and the Justice Department.
Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA)
A favorite of the far right, Santorum is anti-immigration, anti-gay marriage, anti-abortion rights, and anti-“Islamofascists.”
Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ)
With financial backing from major defense contractors, Kyl has become one of the Senate's leading hawks, championing everything from missile defense to an expansive war on terror in the Middle East.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT)
Having lost the primary as a pro-war Democrat, the neoconish Lieberman hopes to retain his Senate seat as an Independent.
Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO)
The fiercely anti-immigration, pro-war rep once said in a radio interview that if Islamic extremists nuked the United States, then the country should “take out their holy sites.”

Re: Philanthropy Roundtable, PNAC, Bradley Foundation, and more
My child's school math curriculum, a concept-based program published by TERC called Investigations, has recently come under attack by some parents influenced by a Wall Street Journal article by John Hechinger [“New Report Urges Return to Basics in Teaching Math,” September 12, 2006] and the website MathematicallyCorrect.com. Both Hechinger's article and the website reference authors whose work is sponsored by the Fordham Foundation, a Washington K Street organization that advocates school vouchers and charter schools.
The Right Web profile on the Philanthropy Roundtable allowed me to link the Fordham Foundation with the neoconservative Project for a New American Century and the right-leaning Bradley Foundation.
